Excellent!

I live in St. Petersburg and go there all the time and love the food, service, and accommodations. Flamingo Resort is a magnet bringing in great gay clientele to our area. The best part is meeting and socializing with guests that fly in from all over just to stay here. I've met hot guys that were visiting from Canada, Massachusettes, Maine, and quite a few New Yorkers. I've never heard any complaints.

Lets Support Gay Owned Business

Come on people ... lets try to say positive things. It is a nice hotel and the renovations are well done. Its a new complex and they can only improve on it. We need more safe places like this to be able to get together for fun and entertainment.

Nice Hotel, Close to the beach, poor service

On Saturday and Sunday of this past week, I checked into the Flamingo, the rooms are in good shape, nice pool. If you have been to the Parliament House in Orlando, you know you can have a ton of fun, not so here, they are very strict about the no food or drink outside of your room policy, the continental breakfast is suberp, only 15 minutes from the beaches. Downside staff is not friendly, and can be downright rude, bar is not packed, no cruising, I was wondering if I were in a gay resort, or a Seventh Day Adventist camp. I will only return if I go back to St Pete, but will not make a special trip to stay there.

Been there twice (on Sunday's - THE ONLY DAY this place has people in it.) And the service is lousy, the pool (which is huge) takes up all the room to stand, if it rains.. FORGET IT.. you're wet. Whoever designed the TIKI BAR should be shot. Just as other have said.. it's HUGE.. problem is.. it's HUGE for the bartenders, their workstation is very nice, the problem is it takes up the whole damn tiki bar allowing for a small space to sit or stand causing everyone to bump into each other. The owners must have been on crack when they put this together. NOT TO MENTION there is NO HAPPY HOUR on SUNDAYs. They are super pricy. I'm not saying I won't go back, just won't make it a weekly Sunday pit stop.Especially if it calls for RAIN... :(

Best place in area

This place is great. I was so tied of all the other run down bars that were supposed to be "upscale." I went on Saturday night and there must have been over 1000 people! The video bar was packed, the outside cabana bar (which is huge) was also wall to wall with people. The outside courtyard and pool area must have had at least 300 people in it. The music was great and the bartenders friendly. The following Sunday me and some friends decided to spend the night. The room was clean and had obviously been recently remodeled. For the night we paid $79 which was not bad. The next morning we had a free breakfast at the hotel and sat by the pool for a couple of hours. Overall this is the best thing for the gay community that has happend in the Tampa Bay area for years!
