Great service, cheap drinks
Located behind Mr. Sun's Liquors, music is played low in this weird set-up that totally works.

      dive bar
This bar is the definition of a dive bar. That being said, we had a great time there. Plenty of friendly people enjoying cocktails.

      Hates it

I have tried the place a few times and each time there are the same regulars who look and act wasted. I didn't find it friendly.

      Small, friendly lounge
After being told about the Lucky Star Lounge, I went there with a friend yesterday. The set up is intimate There is a small outdoor patio and it is connected to the open bar room. Although no one was smoking on the patio when I visited, I don't know if it is far enough away from the bar to make it really smoke free. You walk through the patio to enter the bar also. I think it is someplace where conversation flows freely. The location is good, steps from Central Ave and within walking distance to other places. All in all, I had a positive feeling.

Best Little Gay Bar In Tampa Bay
Lucky Star is a quaint little bar with a big heart and small prices. It's also the only bar in St. Pete that has a true Happy Hour 7 days a week. (NO TOKENS NEEDED). $2.00 wells, $2.00 domestics, $2.00 House Wine, $2.50 Corona and Heinken. Since the bar opened two years ago it has done some renovations with a nice outdoor patio and lots more seating. No pretentious atmosphere or people. Come get cha some!

I frequent this bar often esp weekends when I am off from my job/profession. It is a small neighborhood bar with cheap drink prices,a friendly staff and patrons. Top shelf drinks are are more expensive than most gay bars in the geographical area considering the bar is associated with a liquor store located in front of the bar but you cant have everything perfect.Smoking is allowed on the patio which is a short distance from the bar.As a minority I wish there were more minority clients/patrons.
